DA22 Claymore
- Advanced Attack Fighter Bomber
The project to
upgrade the Blade into a heavy fighter gave birth to
the Rapier just as a similar program to upgrade the
Saber resulted in Daetrexx's latest fighter design,
the Claymore. A medium range fighter with capital class
weapons capability and remarkable ground-attack abilities,
the Claymore found itself an almost fanatical following
among smaller world militaries that wanted to standardize
on one fighter that could do it all. Though not as nimble
as the Blade or as fast as the Saber and lacking some
of the armor and range of the Rapier, the Claymore proved
itself more that capable at any task asked of it. A
large variety in weapon configurations and respectable
bomber capabilities keep it fulfilling a niche in the
starfighter market that has proved extremely loyal to
the series through various revisions of the craft.

Primary missiles: 2 Dagger class light torpedo tube
clusters with 2 rounds per tube (8 total) - and 1 Dagger
class high capacity torpedo tube with 8 rounds - using
low-level jam-proof visual target tracking
Available hard points: 5 - two wing mounted, two upper
fuselage and one lower fuselage
