F79 Predator
- Fighter Interceptor
This highly specialized
Havoc variant was designed by Artrix Aerospace (a key
member of the Confederate military manufacturing consortium)
during the Hylandian civil war in order to provide the
loyalists with a fast, heavily armored interceptor to
combat the hit and run tactics being used by the rebels.
It proved to be such a successful design, that soon
it was re-named the Predator, and the design was being
manufactured throughout the Galaxy by most Confederate
military contractors. The key appeal of the fighter
is the increased speed and maneuverability, though the
ship can carry far less ordinance and heavy firepower
when compared to the standard Havoc.

launchers (dumb-fired due to unit cost and high availability
vs. missile jamming technology)
