Attack Fighter-Bomber
The customer feedback
on the Hornet was enough to convince Hiverian that thier
market was willing to buy more products from them if
they could be positioned properly. It was decided that
the Wasp could also be even more successfully marketed
if it was part of a line of space craft designed to
form a complete military fighting group for those who
wished to standardize on one manufacturer for parts
and services.
Hiverian felt thier best move for a new high-demand
product among thier customers would be for a more heavily
gunned support ship to compliment the Wasp. The Wasp
was developed as a gunship and attack craft designed
to work in tandem with the Hornet when escort was available
and heavy guns were needed. All major weapons systems,
armor and attack abilities were upgraded, compromising
the usual attributes in agility and speed. The pair
proved to be a deadly combination and most of Hiverian's
customers remain loyal to the product line ordering
both fighters in proportionate quanties to form very
effective attack groups.
Despite this marketing, the Wasp is quite capable of
standing on its own as a heavy fighter and capital strike
craft.
