FP211 Wyvern
- Tactical Fighter-Bomber
The Wyvern evolved
from the Navy's need for an attack starfighter that
maintained its fighting prowess in a wide range of atmospheric
conditions as well as a high performing deep space fighter.
The Wyvern fulfilled this need nicely with a wide range
of adaptable roles that the ship can perform. The Wyvern,
while still considered an excellent dog-fighter and
ground support fighter, easily navigates even heavy
gas giants better than any other ship in the Reinaare
arsenal. The increased range and speed over the draco
make it better suited as an escort, while the increase
in power output to secondary weapons system make it
more flexible as well. However, concerns amoung fighter
pilots about the compromises in space agility and primary
weapon systems have kept it from reaching the level
of success seen by the Draco.
